At the beginning of this millennium, the Jewish population in Israel began to adopt ethno-national and strong neo-Zionist positions and values. These are reinforced by the state’s governmental apparatus. Simultaneously, the state began to more actively pursue the social engineering of Palestinian citizens, hoping to blot out notions of collective identity and dispossess them of their cultural and national heritage. These efforts, if successful, are liable to completely exclude Palestinian citizenry from the realm of political activity, and eventually erase the collective population itself…
