Arabs represent eighteen percent of the 15- to 18-year-old age group in Israel and approximately eight percent of the Arab population. Despite this they do not receive the appropriate attention from Israeli governmental organisations. This neglect is particularly present in social and cultural spheres and in the field of education. In addition, there are few Arab organisations dedicated to the issues of young people.

The importance of this survey is that it is the first of its kind that documents and analyzes the opinions and attitudes of young Arabs on a variety of issues directly relating to them.
