In May 2014, Mada researcher Dr. Aas Atrash conducted a survey among young Arabs regarding their views of military service. The aim of this study was to describe and evaluate the positions of Arab citizens of Israel on issues relating to military conscription in the Israeli armed forces.
- 21.3% of those polled support the recruitment of Arab citizens for military service. The religious breakdown of those who supported Arab military recruitment was 11.8% Muslim, 31.5% Christian, and 65.6% Druze.
- 22.7% support the recruitment of Arab Christians for military service. The religious breakdown of those who supported the recruitment of Christians was 14.1% Muslim, 32.7% Christian, and 60.7% Druze.
